Does this sound familiar?

You're working twice as hard to keep up — and still feeling behind.

ADHD isn't about not trying. It's a brain that's wired differently — and most people don't reach out until the workarounds stop holding. If any of this lands, you're in the right place.

Focus that won't land

You sit down to start and your attention scatters — or you lock onto the wrong thing for hours.

Time keeps slipping

Deadlines sneak up, you're late without knowing how, and "five minutes" quietly becomes an hour.

Starting is the hardest part

You know exactly what needs doing, but actually beginning it feels almost impossible.

Piles of unfinished things

Plenty of ideas and good intentions — and a trail of projects that never quite got done.

The overwhelm won't quiet

Your mind runs ten tabs at once, and switching them off at the end of the day feels impossible.

"Why can't I just do it?"

Years of "you're not trying hard enough" have piled up into self-doubt that's hard to shake.

If you've wondered whether it's "really" ADHD: a lot of adults spend years being called lazy, problem child, or careless before realising their brain was simply wired differently. You don't need a diagnosis in hand to start — a free 15-minute conversation is a good first step.

How ADHD support works here

Practical strategies that fit how your brain actually works.

This isn't about trying harder or white-knuckling through. We start with how your attention, motivation, and energy really move — then build tools and systems that work with them, not against them.

Practical ADHD strategies

Real-world tools for focus, follow-through, time, and organisation — built around your actual life, not a generic checklist.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Practical work on the thought patterns — perfectionism, avoidance, harsh self-talk — that so often ride along with ADHD.

Working with the overwhelm

A body-aware approach to calm the nervous-system overload and anxiety that pile on top of ADHD, so it's easier to think clearly.

The whole picture

ADHD rarely travels alone — anxiety, low mood, and old self-doubt often come too. We can work with those alongside the practical strategies.

What ADHD support can help with

Where ADHD counselling can help.

Focus & follow-through

Getting started, staying on task, and finishing what you begin without burning out.

Overwhelm & organisation

Taming the mental load, the piles, and the sense that everything is urgent at once.

Time & procrastination

Working with time-blindness and task-avoidance instead of fighting them head-on.

Self-esteem & shame

Unwinding years of "not trying hard enough" and building a kinder relationship with yourself.

Adults & youth

Support for grown-ups diagnosed late or newly wondering, and for younger clients too.

Assessment guidance

ADHD-CCSP certified, with guidance on the assessment process where it's helpful.

Counselling in your language

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿࠗਚ ਸ਼ਾਹ-ਮਸੁਾਾ

ADHD support in Punjabi, when it matters most.

Talking about focus, memory, and "why is this so hard for me" is tough enough. Doing it in a second language — searching for words while trying to be understood — makes it harder. Joban offers sessions in Punjabi, so you can speak naturally about how ADHD actually shows up in your day, your family, and your work.

Whether it's stigma at home, pressure to "just focus," or simply wanting a counsellor who gets it without a long explanation — you're welcome here.

Common questions

ADHD counselling in Surrey — FAQ

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to start?

No. Plenty of people come in while they're still wondering, right after a diagnosis, or years later — all are welcome. You don't need a diagnosis in hand to book a free consult and start getting practical support.

Do you do formal ADHD assessments?

Joban is ADHD-CCSP certified and can talk you through the assessment process and your options. [TO CONFIRM — whether Joban offers formal ADHD assessment/diagnosis or refers out.]

Is this for adults, youth, or both?

Both. Joban works with adults — including those diagnosed later in life — as well as younger clients navigating ADHD.

What happens in the free 15-minute consult?

It's a relaxed conversation, not a session. You share a bit about what's going on, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. There's no cost, no commitment, and no credit card needed to book it.

Do you offer sessions in Punjabi?

Yes. Joban offers ADHD counselling in both Punjabi and English, so you can speak in whichever language feels most natural.

Are sessions in person or online?

Both. You can meet in person in Surrey or connect securely online from anywhere in British Columbia. [TO CONFIRM — whether virtual across BC is offered.]

Is counselling covered by ICBC or CVAP?

Often, yes. If you were in a motor-vehicle accident (ICBC) or affected by a crime (CVAP), counselling is frequently fully funded with no cost to you. Fine Line direct-bills both — ask during your consult and we'll help you find out if you qualify.

Can I use my extended health benefits?

Many extended health plans cover services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). You'll receive a receipt to submit to your provider. Check your plan for "RCC" or "Registered Clinical Counsellor" coverage.

How much does it cost?

Sessions are $145 for 50 minutes and $200 for 75 minutes, with sliding-scale spots available if cost is a barrier. The initial 15-minute consult is always free, and many extended health plans cover an RCC.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you're working through — there's no fixed number. Some people come for a few focused sessions; others stay longer. We'll figure out a pace and plan that fits you.

I've never done therapy before. Is that okay?

Completely. A lot of people who reach out have never spoken to a counsellor before. There's nothing to prepare — just come as you are.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. Sessions are private and confidential, within the standard legal and ethical limits your counsellor will explain up front.
